A few hours earlier, the water was restless and the sky was heavy. I hadn’t even noticed the lily. But when the storm cleared and the sun returned, it opened. Calm, bright, and weightless. I took this near my family’s dock, drawn in by how quietly it appeared. It felt like the lake was offering something back.
