There’s something grounding about photographing a flower against a black backdrop. All the distractions fall away, and what’s left is shape, softness, and light. I didn’t pose this or move anything, it was already composed. I captured this kalanchoe flower at home in 2023 using my macro lens. I was drawn to how it held itself quietly in the frame. Delicate, unbothered, complete.
